MESSAGE FROM THE COLLEGE COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON
It is with great privilege that I present the Annual report of NCUTVET College for the year 2022. The report is cognizant of the fact that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges, as part of the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system, should be strategically positioned to realize the strategic vision and goals of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). It is against this background that we continually aim to achieve the sub outcomes below:
Sub-Outcome 2:
- Increased access and success in programmes leading to intermediate and high level learning; and Sub-Outcome 4:
- Increased access to occupationally directed programmes in needed areas and expansion of the availability of intermediate level skills with a special focus on artisan skills. This report further highlights some specific objectives that the College focused on during 2022 that Council provided related oversight for:
- Provision of quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training services
- Increase academic achievement and success of students.
- Adequate infrastructure and systems in place to increase access to students.
- Appointment of key positions in line with DHET Post Provisioning Norms (PPN)
- The development of partnerships and maintenance of good stakeholder relations to increase the number of students who are adequately prepared to enter the labour market or further and higher learning opportunities.
- Approved, functional policies of the College
- Quality assured GRAP compliant Annual Financial Statements (AFS) On behalf of Council, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Principal and he’s Management team for steering the ship. To our broader College Community and especially our students of NCUTVET, your efforts are definitely noticed.
I wish you all the best, with continued growth and success.
Dr JT Beukes Chairperson of College Council
